In a fascinating post-match revelation, Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze shared the story behind Glody Lilepo's decisive moment of brilliance against Marumo Gallants, a goal that propelled the team to second place in the Betway Premiership.

Following a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on Wednesday, secured by Lilepo's stunning second-half strike, Kaze disclosed that the Congolese forward had made a confident prediction during the interval. "Actually, I am going to surprise you, but when we came back after half-time, Glody said to us and to his teammates that he was going to score a goal," Kaze revealed on Radio 2000’s Game On.

The coach elaborated that Lilepo's foresight was based on keen observation, not just blind hope. "He said that he saw that with the crosses he was making, the keeper had a tendency to come out and anticipate," Kaze explained. "So, because he noticed that even on set pieces, the corners, the keeper has a tendency on every corner to anticipate and come out. And he said he hoped that maybe, after the two crosses he made before, the keeper would anticipate the cross again, and he said that he was going to try to see if he could do it, and luckily, it worked for us."

While Kaze admitted Lilepo likely didn't foresee scoring a goal of such high quality, the execution of the plan was perfect. Beyond celebrating the victory, the Burundian tactician also issued a plea to the club's passionate supporters. He urged them to be patient with the 28-year-old attacker, whose recent performances must be viewed in the context of his physical condition. "Lilepo is a player that, when he is on the field, he drives the team forward," Kaze stated. "Sometimes I understand the frustration of the fans, but we also need to put his last performances into the context of a player who has been injured lately."
