This historic outcome is the culmination of a remarkable season for Dadjè FC. The final itself was a real battle of nerves. Before the half-hour mark, the Green and Whites took the lead with a stunning free kick from Salif Bagaté in the 25th minute. However, the reigning champions, Coton FC, managed to draw level late in the match thanks to a penalty converted by Emmanuel Henry. Ultimately, it was Dadjè FC who showed greater composure, prevailing 5-3 in the penalty shootout. This victory ends the reign of three-time Beninese champions Coton FC and marks the first ever national title for the Aplahoué-based club.
