Sabah FC secured the first victory in their history in the Champions League on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The Azerbaijani club defeated Slavia Prague 2-0 on the second matchday of the league phase, thanks to goals from Kaheem Parris and Joy-Lance Mickels.

Sabah FC have claimed their first success on the European stage. After their defeat by Manchester United (0-4) on the opening matchday, the Azerbaijani side responded perfectly in front of their home fans at Baku Olympic Stadium.

The two teams went into the break level at 0-0. Sabah had thought they had taken the lead as early as the 17th minute, but Kaheem Parris's goal was ruled out for offside. The Jamaican striker eventually found the net in the 49th minute to put his side ahead.

Slavia Prague tried to get back into the game, but came up against the resistance of the opposing defence and decisive saves from goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov. The visitors were unable to convert their chances and reignite the contest.

In the 88th minute, Joy-Lance Mickels took advantage of an error by the Czech goalkeeper to score Sabah's second goal and secure victory for the hosts. The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.

With these first three points, Sabah FC are opening a new chapter in their European history. The Azerbaijani club must now confirm this result on the next matchday, when they are scheduled to host Borussia Dortmund on October 20.
