Chérif Ndiaye once again Serbian champion with Red Star Belgrade
Chérif Ndiaye and Red Star Belgrade were crowned champions of Serbia for the 2024-2025 season this Sunday, April 6, 2025, after a 30th league day where they prevailed 3-1 against OFK Belgrade. While the Serbian club clinches its 8th consecutive title, the Senegalese striker secures his second championship win.
With this victory, Red Star finished the season with a comfortable 23-point lead over Partizan Belgrade, their runner-up. They can no longer be caught, even with the seven playoff matches remaining.
Chérif Ndiaye, the strong link in a well-oiled machine
Arriving in Serbia in September 2023, Chérif Ndiaye quickly established himself as a key figure in Red Star's attack. In his second season in the Serbian elite, the former Adana Demirspor player confirmed all his potential. His relentless activity at the front, goal-scoring sense, and commitment greatly contributed to the Belgrade club's results and success. He was also the scorer of Red Star Belgrade's 3rd goal against OFK Belgrade.
Now a double Serbian champion, Chérif Ndiaye has scored a total of 18 goals in the Serbian Super Liga. A record for the 29-year-old Senegalese, who had never surpassed 11 goals in a championship before.
Besides Chérif Ndiaye, Mouhamadou Moustapha Fall, Olayinka Peter, Silas, Kangor Guélor, and Annan Ebenezer are also the Africans crowned Serbian champions with Red Star Belgrade.
