Club Africain Crisis Deepens: Title Hopes Crushed, Chambers Plans Full Audit

Club Africain’s American backer Fergie Chambers, has stirred fresh controversy among the club's supporters following growing speculation that he might run for club president next season.

Title Dreams Crushed - Fans in Revolt

After 1 - 0 loss to CA Bizertin last Sunday, Club Africain were officially ruled out of the title race and Champions league spots.

The result sparked angry backlash from fans who demanded the resignation of president Heikel Dkhil, head coach David Bechkoura and number of underperforming players.

Chambers Responds – No Plans to Lead the Club

In message posted Wednesday on Facebook, Chambers rejected claims that he was eyeing the presidency, clarifying:

“I’m not here to support any candidate or become president. I simply want to see new, stable and legitimate leadership structure”

He further stated that he supports the formation of elected and independent committee and said his previous message about taking decisions was misunderstood.

Oversight Incoming ـــ Audit Planned

Despite the chaos, Chambers reaffirmed his commitment to the club stating that he won't leave.

Instead he revealed plans to conduct full financial and administrative audit via international sports management firm. A full report will also be prepared to define his current and future roles at the club especially as head of the collective sports development committee.

Next Steps & Crucial Clash Ahead

Chambers's expected to meet with president Dkhil and other executives after Sunday’s league game against Etoile du Sahel to outline the club’s next steps.
