CONFIRMED: SA stars abroad discover opponents in UEFA competitions
South African stars abroad have officially learnt their fate in the prestigious UEFA competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Aden McCarthy and Sabah FK will travel to English champions Arsenal, Manchester United, Villareal CF, and fellow debutants Viking of Norway in league phase of the Champions League.
The Azerbaijani outfit will also entertain Spanish champions FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Slavia Praha in their home fixtures of the highly-anticipated 2026/27 continental campaign.
On the other hand, Relebohile Mofokeng and Union Saint-Gilloise visit French giants Olympique Lyon, Viktoria Plzen, Celta Vigo, and Turkish powerhouse Besiktas in the Europa League.
The Belgian side will also play host to Real Sociedad, Scottish champions Celtic, Lech Poznan of Poland, and Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Beer-Sheva in front of their passionate supporters.
Elsewhere, Thapelo Maseko and FC Copenhagen will square off against Crvena Zvezda of Serbia, Romania's Universitatea Craiova, and Inter Escaldes from Andora, in their away fixtures of the Conference League.
The Danish giants will also welcome Braga of Portugal, Switzerland's Lugano, and Iberia Tbilisi from Georgia at Parken Stadium, as they search for their first continental title.
Gift Links and AGF are set to lock horns with Belgian outfit KAA Gent, Norway's SK Brann, and Inter Escaldes, in what will be their matches on the road in the Conference League.
