Copa America 2028: The United States emerge as strong favorites to host the tournament
COPA America

After the 2026 World Cup, the United States could be set to host Copa America in 2028.

According to reports from The Athletic, CONCACAF and CONMEBOL are currently in talks over the possibility of staging the 2028 Copa America in the United States. If the answer is "yes", it would mark the second consecutive time—and the third since 2016—that the tournament would be held on American soil.

However, the event's scheduling would need to be coordinated with the Los Angeles Olympic Games, set for summer 2028, to avoid any calendar conflicts. While discussions with CONCACAF are progressing, CONMEBOL is still considering other options in South America, including Argentina and Ecuador.
