Accused of assaulting a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30, 2022, Alves had been held in provisional detention for more than a year. Released on bail, he was later sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

However, the Court of Appeal of the Catalonia Justice Tribunal overturned this conviction, considering the evidence insufficient to confirm his guilt.
