Despite Interest from Al Ahly and Zamalek: Barcelona Close to Signing Orlando Pirates Starlet Relebohile Mofokeng

Spanish giants Barcelona are on the verge of signing South African forward Relebohile Mofokeng from Orlando Pirates during the 2025 summer transfer window following strong interest from multiple European clubs.

According to the spanish newspaper Sport, Barcelona has been actively scouting emerging african talents with Mofokeng, 20, standing out as one of the most promising prospects. The report adds that the Catalan club has been closely monitoring the player with plans to initially integrate him into their reserve team before gradually introducing him to the 1st team.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly & Zamalek had previously expressed interest in signing Mofokeng during the winter transfer window but the youngster opted to wait for an opportunity to move to top European league. Several English Premier League clubs have also shown interest, yet Barcelona appears to be in pole position to secure his signature.

Mofokeng has featured in 10 CAF Champions League matches this season for Orlando Pirates, scoring 4 goal and providing 2 assist.
