Didier Zokora wants to return to AS Saint-Étienne. Not as a player, but as a talent scout. From Africa, where he now resides, the former Ivorian international offers his services to the Stéphanois club, with a clear vision: to spot future stars from the continent.

Zokora, 44, wants to put his experience to use for ASSE. A team he knows well, having played there for two seasons (2004-2006) before continuing a career marked by over 120 caps with Côte d'Ivoire. Today, he wishes to become a scout for the Greens on the African continent. He confided in Top Mercato:

I would like to be their scout for AS Saint-Étienne in Africa. To go to Senegal, Guinea, Nigeria... to detect new talents. When you don't have the means of big clubs like Real Madrid, who can buy expensive players, you need a vast network of scouts to spot the gems before others. I love this role.

His ambition: to help the club bounce back by identifying promising profiles on a continent where he enjoys a solid network and great credibility. An outstretched hand that could prove invaluable as Saint-Étienne seeks to maintain its place in the elite.
