Dominant Display: Athletic Bilbao Crushes Real Valladolid 7-1 in La Liga Showdown

Athletic Bilbao delivered resounding statement in La Liga with thumping 7 - 1 victory over Real Valladolid on Sunday. The Basque side put on show at San Mamés, securing 3 crucial point to strengthen their position in the top 4.

The hosts wasted no time asserting their dominance with Mikel Jauregizar opening the scoring in the 10 minute after slick assist from Nico Williams. Williams who was in sensational form, added to the tally with hat trick, scoring in the 35, 67 and 88 minute. Moroccan forward Maroan Sannadi also found the net in the 43 minute, marking his first goal since joining Bilbao from Alavés in Jan. Oihan Sancet 45' and Gorka Guruzeta 70' completed the rout.

Real Valladolid struggling at the bottom of the table managed consolation goal through Mamadou Sylla in the 47 minute, their misery was compounded when Stanko Juric received red card in the 56 minute reducing them to 10 men.

With this emphatic victory Athletic Bilbao extended their unbeaten run in La Liga to 16 match. The Lions now sit in 4th place with 48 point, while Valladolid remains rooted at the bottom with just 15 point, facing uphill battle to avoid relegation.

Bilbao will now turn their attention to their upcoming clash against Atlético Madrid, while Valladolid faces another tough test against Las Palmas in their fight for survival.
