On Sunday at Elche's home ground, Kylian Mbappé lashed out at the officials.

Last night, Kylian Mbappé left the Martínez Valero stadium visibly furious after Real Madrid's 2-2 draw against Elche. This result puts a brake on Madrid's title charge in La Liga, as their comfortable lead at the top has now shrunk by four points in just two matchdays. The French striker was particularly frustrated by the referee's decision to blow the final whistle right at the end of the eight minutes of added time, despite the home team’s time-wasting tactics.

According to the referee's report relayed by Defensa Central, the official justified his booking by explaining: "In the 90th minute, player Kylian Mbappé Lottin was cautioned for the following reason: for openly protesting one of my decisions after the match had ended, while we were still on the pitch."
