End of the season in Nantes, Saïdou Sow to undergo surgery in Strasbourg this Monday
Saïdou Sow's season has come to a sudden halt. The Guinean center-back, on loan from Strasbourg to FC Nantes since January, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee during a training session earlier this week. Medical examinations confirmed the severity of the injury.
The 22-year-old is now forced to leave the Canaries squad prematurely. It's worth noting that Saïdou Sow joined the Canaries in January to get more playing time. He featured in nine Ligue 1 matches for Nantes, scoring once against Le Havre on March 30.
With his adventure in Nantes over, Saïdou Sow bid farewell to his Nantes teammates last Thursday before heading to Strasbourg to prepare for his operation. The procedure, scheduled for Monday, May 5, will mark the beginning of a long rehabilitation period. It's a tough blow for the Guinean, who had attracted interest from several German and English clubs for the summer transfer window. He must now focus on his recovery at Racing Club de Strasbourg, the club he's contracted with until 2028.
