Although he has been on Chelsea's radar for weeks, Fermín López looks set to extend his stay.

Continuing to shine under Hansi Flick's guidance, Fermín López is about to be rewarded for his impressive performances in a Barcelona shirt. The young Spanish midfielder is set to sign a contract extension with the Blaugrana until 2031, according to COPE. The Spanish outlet reports that his new deal could be officially announced on Thursday, January 29 or Friday, January 30.

This season, Fermín López has featured in 25 matches across all competitions for the Catalan giants (1,546 minutes played), racking up 10 goals and 10 assists. Courted by Chelsea last summer, the 22-year-old Spaniard is determined to make his mark in Catalonia for years to come.
