FIFA approves nationality change for Assane Diao and Yehvanne Diouf

Assane Diao and Yehvanne Diouf are now officially Senegalese. Indeed, FIFA has formally recognized their affiliation with this West African country. The announcement was made by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) on Friday through a statement. "The Senegalese Football Federation informs the public that FIFA has endorsed the change of sporting nationality for players Yehvanne Diouf and Assane Diao by a single decision of the FIFA Football Tribunal judge dated March 19, 2025," the statement reads.

FIFA also confirmed Antoine Alpha Mendy's eligibility to play for Senegal, according to the FSF's note. However, it notes a setback regarding Ilya Camara's case. According to the information, the Belgian Federation has not yet responded to the request for validation of the 25-year-old player's sporting situation. The authorities of the governing body of Senegalese football remain attentive to the progress of this case.
