Jude Bellingham's goal against Norway will not be overturned. After much debate surrounding the play, FIFA has announced that it found no irregularities.

During the 2026 World Cup quarter-final, which England won 2-1 after extra time, Bellingham's opener in the 45+2 minute sparked controversy. Some footage suggested that, following a clearance by Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland, the ball may have struck a camera cable before slightly changing direction.

FIFA reviewed the situation using data from the connected ball. According to the organization, the built-in sensor did not record any unusual changes that could confirm contact with the cable. “No evidence was found that the ball touched the cable and altered its movement,” FIFA stated. The goal was therefore upheld and helped England secure their place in the semi-finals, where the Three Lions will face Argentina.
