Another factor delaying this official announcement is the club's administrative situation. LaLiga continues to restrict Barcelona's moves due to a financial fair play deficit. The still unapproved sale of the VIP boxes of the future Camp Nou, built by the Turkish company Limak, currently prevents any contractual registration.

Flick, true to his philosophy of flexibility, prefers to extend year by year. But Barça, keen to stabilize its sporting project, is considering offering him a two-season contract this summer.
