🔴 Flash: Raja Casablanca faces possible FIFA sanction!
Raja Casablanca is facing a worrying situation. The Moroccan giant and reigning champion is under threat of a transfer ban from FIFA, Moroccan media revealed this Wednesday, April 30.
According to an official document from FIFA's legal department, obtained by Le360, Raja must pay around 150,000 euros to their former Algerian player Mehdi Boukassi (28), now at Botev Vratsa. The dispute concerns the period between July 2022 and January 2024.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed this sanction, definitively rejecting the Casablanca club's appeal. The verdict is now final, and Raja is required to pay the sum within two weeks or face a transfer ban as early as this summer's transfer window.
This isn't a first for Raja!
Already barred from signing players last winter, the club is no stranger to this situation. Back then, an amicable agreement had been reached with Boukassi, but commitments were not honored, largely due to internal instability.
Under the presidency of Aziz El Badraoui, Boukassi was signed from Al-Qowa Al-Jawiya (Iraq), yet never wore the Green jersey in an official match. Loaned out to Finland, he was released without having made an impression.
