Tomorrow, in the round of 16 of this 2026 World Cup, Sweden will face France.

Despite the impressive form shown by Les Bleus during the group stage, Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres believes his country can pull off an upset.

"I think we have to believe in ourselves. We've seen in many matches in this tournament that you can win games even when you're not the favorite. You can do well even when playing against the best teams. We may be the underdogs, but we believe in ourselves. We’ll need to be at our very best, our defensive organization has to be almost perfect and, of course, we need to take the chances we get," said the Arsenal forward to the press.

It's worth noting that Sweden has shown a very inconsistent side at this 2026 World Cup. They recorded a big win over Tunisia (5-1), suffered a heavy defeat against the Netherlands (1-5), and drew with Japan (1-1).
