Ghana: André Ayew responds to not being called up by the Black Stars

Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, has not called upon André Ayew for the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. A few days after receiving the news, the Le Havre player made statements regarding the situation.

The Ghanaian football team is once again without André Ayew during this international break in March 2025. The Le Havre midfielder was not selected by Otto Addo. "We all know that the selection of Black Stars players is based on performance. Dede is up to the mark, but we must respect the coach's choice. I spoke with Ayew and he is not worried," revealed former player Agyemang-Badu, who claims to have had an extensive discussion with the former Marseille player about it.

Ghana without André Ayew, but with Thomas Partey

The Ghanaian squad isn't entirely lacking its key players. Indeed, Thomas Partey, who missed the previous gathering with André Ayew due to injury, is back. Otto Addo can rely on the Arsenal player's experience to gain points and aim for the top spot in Group I. Ghana is currently tied at the top with Comoros with 9 points. The Black Stars will play Chad at home on March 21 before facing Madagascar away three days later.
