• The Safety Net: Under the new format, hope is not lost for teams finishing third. Sides like Scotland, Paraguay and Sweden are still very much alive if they can secure positive results in their final matches.

Heartbreak & Early flights home

Football can be cruel and three nations have already seen their World Cup journeys come to a mathematical end.
