Tunisian media reports confirm that Haissem Hassan the Real Oviedo forward has finalized his international future.

Born in France to an Egyptian father and Tunisian mother, Hassan was eligible to represent three national teams. While he previously played for France at youth levels, FIFA regulations allow him to switch allegiances.

Tunisia’s Pursuit Ends in Disappointment

The new Tunisian Football Federation administration made serious efforts to convince Hassan to join the CarthageEagles. However their attempts were unsuccessful.

According to Mosaïque FM, the 22 year old firmly rejected the idea of representing Tunisia. Instead he informed officials that he identifies more with his egyptian heritage and prefers to play for the pharaohs.
Following his decision, the Tunisian FA's officially closed his case shifting its focus toward scouting new Tunisian origin talents in european leagues.

Promising Career Path

Hassan developed his skills at Paris FC’s youth academy before moving to Châteauroux in 2017. In 2020 Villarreal signed him for 2 million euuro but he made just 2 senior appearance without scoring.

He later had loan spells at Mirandés & Sporting Gijón before securing permanent transfer to Real Oviedo last summer for 1.5 million euro.

This season the forward's played 30 match in Spain’s Segunda División & the Copa del Rey, contributing 5 goal and assists combined.
