Senegalese defender Mouhamed El Bachir Ngom is already leaving Grasshopper Club Zürich, just six months after his arrival. The 26-year-old player is joining Belgian side KAA Gent.

For Grasshopper, this departure was almost inevitable. New president Ludovic Deléchat explained that Bachir has made tremendous progress since joining and quickly became a key figure in the squad. However, Gent’s financial offer was simply too substantial to turn down.

The club says it is proud of this rapid development and did not want to deny the player such a great opportunity. They wish him the best of luck in the next stage of his career. Ngom has signed a long-term contract with his new club, running until 2031.
