Bafana’s Recent Progress and Challenges Ahead
South Africa's been on upward trajectory under Broos securing back to back AFCON qualifications &and finishing 3rd in the recent tournament. They now shift focus to the World Cup qualifiers where they sit 2nd in Group C with 7 point.
Broos emphasized the importance of mentality over talent in the upcoming matches.
“Lesotho'll fight for every meter and Benin gave us trouble before. The circumstances have changed but mentality will be key” he said.
Broos Defends Mofokeng Amid Dip in Form
One of Broos notable selections is Orlando Pirates young star Relebohile Mofokeng. Despite slight dip in form, the coach remains confident in his ability. “He’s only 20 and still adapting to high expectations. I won’t drop him because of temporary dip, he needs support to push through” Broos stated.
Mofokeng's been instrumental for Pirates, tallying 85 goal and 12 assist this season. His inclusion highlights Broos long term vision for Bafana.

Bafana will host Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 21 Mar before flying to Cote d’Ivoire to face Benin a few days later. The team'll assemble in Johannesburg on March 17 and camp in Polokwane before the home fixture.
