Injuries hold back Ayman Benarous as he leaves Bristol City

The journey has come to an end for Ayman Benarous at Bristol City. With his contract expiring this summer, the English midfielder of Algerian descent will be leaving the club.

Speaking to Bristol Live, his coach Liam Manning did not hide his disappointment:

It's disappointing for him and for me, because it won't be here. We never really got to see the best of him. But when he was fit, you could see he had talent.

At 21 years old, Ayman Benarous hasn't played a single minute this season. Yet the club had high hopes for him following his promising debut in 2021. But injuries have stalled his progress. Now a free agent, the young midfielder will look to revive his career elsewhere.
