Kojo Oppong in Nice: "I expect a lot from myself"

Having arrived from IFK Norrköping two months ago, Kojo Peprah Oppong (21) has quickly established himself at OGC Nice. But the young Ghanaian wants to offer even more.

The young center-back has started all four Ligue 1 matches this season and has already found the back of the net. "I didn’t expect to play so much at first, but now I’m getting a lot of minutes and I expect a lot from myself," he told Get French Football News.

Oppong is also benefiting from the invaluable advice of veteran Dante, 41, who is helping him better manage his energy and interventions on the pitch.

He told me it’s important to manage the game and conserve energy, especially when you’re leading, so you don’t overexpose yourself.

In addition to his league appearances, Oppong has played in two Champions League qualifiers with Nice. His contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2029.
