La Liga: Atlético held to another draw

Atlético Madrid can't seem to find their footing. After setbacks against Getafe and Barcelona, the Colchoneros conceded another frustrating draw against Espanyol (1-1), further dimming their title hopes.
Everything collapsed after that strange double contact by Julián Álvarez during the penalty shootout against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Since then, the momentum has reversed. Knocked out of the Champions League, a heavy defeat against Barça, and an international break that didn't help Simeone to regroup his squad. Result: six points behind leaders Barcelona and only one shot at a trophy, the Copa del Rey.
Yet, Azpilicueta showed the way by opening the scoring with a superb volley (38th), his first goal with Atlético. But a penalty conceded by Lenglet (70th) and converted by Javi Puado nullified his efforts. Unable to pose a threat (only two shots on target), the Madrid side continues to slip.
