The RFEF Disciplinary Committee has handed a three-match suspension to Ilias Akhomach and Christantus Uche for behaviors deemed unacceptable during the 32nd matchday of the Spanish championship. While the Nigerian midfielder of Getafe CF was punished for an action during the game, the Moroccan right winger of Villarreal fell victim to his own anger.

Ilias Akhomach pays for his uncontrollable anger

Injured with a cruciate ligament tear since November, Ilias Akhomach was not listed on the match sheet during Villarreal-Real Sociedad on Sunday, April 20. However, after a tense match, he let his anger over video refereeing explode. "At the end of the match, the player Mr. Ilias Akhomach Chakkour from Villarreal CF, who had not been summoned, approached me shouting 'it's a shame, a shame!' As he was heading towards the locker rooms, he passed by the VAR monitor, struck it violently, knocking it to the ground and, according to the company technician, breaking it," reported referee Cuadra Fernández in his post-match report.

Uche, the poorly calculated outburst

Christantus Uche, a midfielder for Getafe, also received a three-match ban following his expulsion against Espanyol. The 21-year-old Nigerian, guilty of a dangerous tackle on Jofre Carreras, worsened his case by violently contesting the referee's decision. He thus missed the match against Real Madrid (0-1) this Wednesday, April 23.
