Liga: Nsongo Bil rescues Deportivo against Osasuna
Deportivo La Coruña returned to winning ways thanks to Nsongo Bil. Trailing Osasuna, the Galician club turned the match around on Monday evening at Riazor (2-1), with the Cameroonian forward scoring the decisive goal three minutes before the end of regulation time.
Comeback completed by Nsongo Bil
Osasuna had nevertheless taken the lead through Ante Budimir in the first half. But Deportivo gradually regained control of the match after the break. In the 64th minute, Mario Soriano leveled the scores with a free kick. Antonio Hidalgo's men then continued to push for all three points.
The turning point came in the 87th minute. Adama Traoré made an excellent run down the flank before delivering a cross into the box. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed the ball, forcing Sergio Herrera into action. Nsongo Bil followed up and bundled the ball into the net to give his side the win.
The Cameroonian finds the net again
This goal is Nsongo Bil's second in La Liga this season. Above all, his intervention brings an end to Deportivo's run of six consecutive league matches without a win. The Galician club thus secured its first victory in La Liga since September 5.
For Deportivo, this victory provides some welcome relief. And for Nsongo Bil, it confirms his importance in the attack, with a goal that could prove significant as the season progresses.
