Manchester United – AS Roma: probable lineups
Manchester United and AS Roma are preparing for their Champions League clash, with their starting lineups still awaited. A few hours before their duel at Old Trafford, scheduled for this Tuesday, November 3, here is a projection of the two teams’ lineups.
Manchester United with Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui
Michael Carrick could retain a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Senne Lammens in goal. In defence, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro would form the centre-back partnership, joined by Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot on the flanks. The double pivot would consist of Kobbie Mainoo and Carlos Baleba, with Youri Tielemans playing slightly higher up in midfield.
In attack, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo would occupy the wings, while Bruno Fernandes would be responsible for orchestrating play behind the centre-forward. Manchester United’s probable XI: Lammens – Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot – Mainoo, Baleba – Mbeumo, Tielemans, Cunha – Bruno Fernandes.
AS Roma: Gasperini could opt for a 3-6-1 with Evan Ndicka
For their part, Gian Piero Gasperini is considering a 3-6-1 formation with Pierluigi Gollini in goal. The back three would consist of Gianluca Mancini, Mario Hermoso and Evan Ndicka. On the flanks, Nahuel Molina and Wesley would be tasked with providing width and contributing to attacking phases.
In midfield, Niccolò Pisilli and Marten de Roon would be paired together. Rodrigo Mora would play in a more advanced role, with Matías Soulé supporting Donyell Malen, who is expected to lead the line alone. Roma would also have to cope without Paulo Dybala, Manu Koné and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
