Ligue 2: Krasso and Dicko Deliver a Precious Victory for Paris FC!
Driven by its African talents, Paris FC delivered a stellar performance this Saturday by defeating Lorient 3-2 in the 26th round of Ligue 2. Thanks to a red-hot Jean-Philippe Krasso and an inspired Nouha Dicko, the Parisians draw level with the league-leading Lorient and reinforce their promotion ambitions.
From the start of the match, PFC quickly displayed its offensive intentions. Malian international Nouha Dicko, in fine form, perfectly set up Mathieu Cafaro, who opened the scoring with an unstoppable header in the 12th minute (1-0). Five assists this season for the seasoned 32-year-old Malian striker, who continues to be a key asset.
However, Lorient was quick to respond: the talented Senegalese forward Sambou Soumano equalized with a penalty (25th minute), marking his 10th goal of the season.
Jean-Philippe Krasso, the Hero!
Then, the inevitable Ivorian striker Jean-Philippe Krasso took matters into his own hands. The marksman for the Ivory Coast Elephants first restored PFC's lead with a clean strike (35th minute), before netting a brace three minutes later (38th minute), bringing his tally to 13 goals for the current campaign.
In the second half, Lorient attempted a comeback, but only young Ivorian Junior Kroupi, 18, managed to narrow the gap with a penalty (71st minute). It was not enough to prevent Paris FC from securing a crucial victory in the race for promotion.
