Liverpool: Van Dijk calls for a new striker

Liverpool have already secured the signings of Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong, but captain Virgil van Dijk is still demanding the arrival of another forward.

Alexander Isak (25, Newcastle) is the Reds' top attacking target, even though persuading the Magpies will be a tough challenge. Virgil van Dijk, now 34 and wearing the armband, is pushing for reinforcements:

We've lost Darwin and Lucho. There's always room for a forward, let's see what the transfer window has in store for us.

Liverpool remain active ahead of the transfer deadline, despite losing to Crystal Palace on penalties in the Community Shield.
