The future of Riyad Mahrez at Al-Ahli now appears to be sealed. While several rumors had circulated in recent weeks about a possible departure of the Algerian international at the end of the season, the Saudi club’s management has moved to clarify the situation. According to the local press, the club’s officials have stated that no discussions regarding a transfer are taking place, confirming their intention to keep their star until the end of his contract, which runs through 2027.

This decision comes at a time when the former Manchester City player was attracting interest from several Major League Soccer franchises. But on Al-Ahli’s side, the idea of a departure never really seemed to be on the table. Since his arrival in Saudi Arabia in 2023, the captain of the Algerian national team has established himself as one of the league’s major stars.
