2026 World Cup: Ghana's Black Stars land in the United States

Ghana's Black Stars have touched down in the United States after their preparatory camp in Europe. The national team now enters the final phase of their build-up for the 2026 World Cup, with a 26-man squad led by Carlos Queiroz.

The Black Stars are now settled in Providence, Rhode Island, where they are carrying out their final preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The team departed Cardiff on June 3, wrapping up several weeks of intense training marked by tactical drills, physical conditioning, and team-building exercises.

The technical staff, under the guidance of head coach Carlos Queiroz, aims to use this last stage to fine-tune tactical routines and solidify the team's organization before the tournament kicks off.

A 26-man squad already set

Following their European camp, Queiroz officially named his 26-player squad. This group was assembled after a series of tests and adjustments throughout the training camp, with the goal of building a competitive and balanced team for the World Cup.

The Portuguese manager is putting particular emphasis on tactical discipline and collective efficiency—two key elements seen as essential for success at this level of competition.

One last test before the World Cup

Before heading into the tournament for good, the Black Stars will play one final friendly against Jamaica on June 10. This match will act as a dress rehearsal, giving the staff a chance to make final tweaks.

Their previous warm-up against Wales ended in a 1-1 draw. Ghana took the lead through Caleb Yirenkyi, only to concede a late equalizer after defensive lapses.

For their fifth appearance at a World Cup, Ghana will compete in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. It's a demanding draw that requires the team to be at their best right from the opening matches.

The Black Stars will kick off their campaign on June 17 against Panama, then face England on June 23, before rounding out their group stage against Croatia on June 27.
