Manchester United Stages Dramatic Comeback to Draw Against Everton
In dramatic fashion Manchester United managed to avoid another defeat after coming from behind to draw 2 - 2 with Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
The Toffees dominated early on, scoring in the 19 minute through Beto after mix up in the goal area and continued their dominance by doubling the lead through header from Abdoulaye Doucoure in the 32nd minute, as United looked doomed to another defeat.
But as the 2nd half began, the Red Devils showed resilience with Bruno Fernandes sparking the comeback with fine free kick in the 72 minute and just 8 minute later, Manuel Ugarte took advantage of defensive clearance to score the equaliser.
The match wasn't without controversy with everton being awarded stoppage time penalty after Ashley Young was brought down by Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt. The decision was overturned after VAR review, denying Everton the chance to secure victory.
After the match United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his disappointment with his team's performance in the first half, describing it "poor" but praised their ability to hold on in the closing stages. On the other hand Everton manager David Moyes felt his team deserved the win but saw united's late comeback strongly.
