MCA: Rulani Mokwena responds to rumors of Youssef Belaïli's return!
During his first media appearance as head coach of Mouloudia d’Alger, Rulani Mokwena (38) expressed his pride in joining the club and laid out ambitious plans for the future. The South African tactician takes over from Khaled Ben Yahia on the bench of the reigning Algerian champions.
At the press conference held at the "Baba Hammoud" training center in Zéralda, Mokwena stated:
“When I arrived, I found a well-prepared team in a supportive environment. That gives me confidence for what’s ahead. My goal is to defend the titles already won, but also to go even further in every competition.”
Mokwena speaks on a possible Belaïli return to MCA
When asked about the possibility of Youssef Belaïli's return—currently under contract with Espérance de Tunis—Mokwena replied with a smile:
“I was expecting this question. Belaïli is one of the players I followed closely during the FIFA Club World Cup. He’s among the most talented individuals I’ve faced, especially in the matches between Espérance and Mamelodi Sundowns. But I can’t say more—he still belongs to another club.”
Mokwena also proudly introduced his staff: “My assistant Robinson has extensive experience with the South African national team, boasting several titles, especially on the continental stage. Enzo, my second assistant, has worked with the Togo national team and Vita Club. He speaks several languages, which makes communication with the squad much easier.”
Rulani Mokwena wrapped up his remarks with a clear statement: “My main goal here is to make Mouloudia one of the best clubs on the African continent.”
