Salah missed the camp’s opening day due to his participation in Liverpool’s 2 - 1 Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle. The Egyptian winger endured tough week having also seen his team crash out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Paris Saint Germain.

Head coach Hossam Hassan and his staff watched Liverpool’s final while having breakfast with some of the squad members discussing Salah’s recent struggles.

Hassan's reportedly planning one on one meeting with Salah upon his arrival to boost his morale and refocus him on Egypt’s World Cup qualification ambitions.

Travel Plans & Squad Updates

The Egyptian squad's set to travel to Morocco on Tuesday for their match against Ethiopia in the 5th round of qualifiers. Salah'll join the team in Cairo just hours before departure.

Meanwhile, Qatari based stars Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet (Al Rayyan) & Hamdi Fathi (Al Wakrah) were among the first players to report for national duty.
