According to data from the French outlet, Morocco has also taken sole possession of the top spot among African teams for most goals scored in World Cup history, with a total of 26 goals. The Atlas Lions now outpace Nigeria (23 goals) and Cameroon (22 goals).

The Moroccan achievements don't stop there. The Atlas Lions have also become only the second African team to score four goals in a single World Cup match, following Algeria, who accomplished the feat against South Korea at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
