Morocco: The doors to the national team close for Issa Diop

Bad news for Issa Diop. The Fulham player will not be able to wear Morocco's colors. The decision has been made by Walid Regragui and the leaders of the Moroccan Football Federation.

Issa Diop's international career seems to be an unattainable dream. Not being part of Senegal's plans, the Fulham defender sees the doors to Morocco's national team closing right in front of him. Indeed, during his press conference announcing the Atlas Lions' squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Walid was clear on the matter:

There have been no contacts with Diop and I don't think there will be any. Honestly, I have never spoken with him. You need a sender to have a receiver, and you need a life to play for Morocco.

It should be noted that Issa Diop, who is naturalized French, is not among the priorities of the FFF. At 28, he can bid farewell to an international career he has long dreamed of.
