Mostafa Mohamed Backs Egypt for AFCON 2025 Glory Amid Tough Competition

Egyptian forward Mostafa Mohamed believes African football has significantly evolved, making the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON in Morocco highly competitive tournament.

Egypt’s Determination to Reclaim the Title

Speaking to beIN Sports, the Nantes striker emphasized that Egypt's fully focused on winning the title regardless of the competition in their group.

“There's constant focus from the players on going as far as possible but sometimes luck is not on our side”, “no team in Africa is easy anymore and geographical divisions no longer matter. Ultimately, success depends on the players' performance and fortune” he said.

Egypt’s AFCON Legacy & Salah’s Impact

Egypt has not won the AFCON title since 2010, yet remains the most successful team in the tournament’s history with 7 title.

Mostafa Mohamed highlighted the influence of Mohamed Salah stating that the Liverpool superstar instills confidence in the squad. “He’s great player with incredible mentality and we all learn from him” he added.
