The situation surrounding Youcef Belaili’s potential return to the Algeria national team has taken new twist just days before the upcoming international break.

Belailis been widely expected to reclaim his spot in the squad for the March training camp during which Algeria will resume their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, according to La Gazette du Fennec, as of Saturday, 2 March, Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunis hadn't received official preliminary call up for the star winger.

Confusion Over Missing Invitation

Reports indicate that while several of Belaili’s international teammates at Espérance have received their invitations, the absence of his name has raised questions. Sources suggest 2 possibilities: either the Algerian Football Federation has delayed sending his call up or he's been left out of the squad once again.
