No Tunisia–Senegal friendly, confirms Sami Trabelsi

Sami Trabelsi was keen to set the record straight ahead of the 2025 AFCON. While several media outlets claimed that a friendly against Senegal was scheduled for December 18 in Tunis, the Tunisian head coach firmly denied the report, dismissing it as a baseless rumor.

"No match has been confirmed for that date and no agreement has been finalized with the Senegalese Federation," he reiterated, urging everyone to avoid unnecessary speculation.

The Tunisian tactician did confirm, however, that Tunisia is actively working on its pre-AFCON preparations. Talks are underway with several African national teams to organize one or two friendly matches, but no official agreement has been signed yet. The goal is to fine-tune the squad as much as possible before the tournament kicks off.

Trabelsi also assured that any confirmed fixtures will be promptly announced by the Tunisian Football Federation. This is intended to put an end to the confusion and refocus attention on the real preparations of the Carthage Eagles, who are determined to approach AFCON 2025 with maximum composure and discipline.
