The curtain falls for Burkina Faso international Alain Traoré. He officially announced the end of his football career this Thursday, July 17, 2025, drawing a close to nearly twenty years of passion and dedication to the beautiful game.

Trained at the Planète Champion Academy in Ouagadougou, Alain Traoré has enjoyed a rich journey, playing for clubs across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The Burkinabè midfielder has donned the colors of AJ Auxerre, Lorient, Monaco, Kayserispor, RS Berkane, and Arta Solar 7, among others.

He made his decision known in a message that quickly spread across social media. "I feel privileged and grateful to the Good Lord for allowing me to make a living through football, my passion, for the wonderful people I’ve met thanks to the sport, for discovering so many cultures around the world, and for having brought as much joy as possible to countless supporters and football fans through my modest performances on the pitch." shared Alain Traoré.

The now-retired player represented the Burkina Faso national team from 2005 to 2022.
