With his contract at the Toffees coming to an end, Idrissa Gana Gueye is leaving Everton.

The Liverpool club has just made the departure of the Senegal international official. Gana Gueye returned to the club in September 2022 after a spell at PSG. He had already worn the Everton shirt between 2013 and 2016, making 108 appearances. During his second stint, he featured 125 times and established himself as one of David Moyes’ key leaders.

"Everton confirms the departure of Idrissa Gana Gueye, who has given outstanding service to the Blues over seven seasons…" announced the English club.

"Everyone at Everton is extremely grateful to Gana for his dedication, professionalism and impact on the pitch throughout his two spells at the club. His leadership qualities, both in the dressing room and beyond, have proved crucial, especially during our last season at Goodison. His commitment to the club over all these years has been exceptional. Everyone connected to Everton thanks Gana – he will always be welcome at the club – and we wish him and his family all the best for the future," said David Moyes, Everton manager.
