OL confirms ACL tear for Ernest Nuamah
Bad news for Ernest Nuamah! In an official statement, Olympique Lyonnais announced that their Ghanaian striker is suffering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee.
This injury occurred during the match against Lille on April 5 (2-1) in France's Ligue 1. Starting against Les Dogues, the Ghanaian forward was forced to leave the field seven minutes after kickoff. He had just felt pain in his left knee.
Early this week, medical examinations were conducted. Unfortunately, it is exactly what the medical staff feared. "Olympique Lyonnais regrets the serious injury of Ernest Nuamah, victim of an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee that occurred Saturday night during the OL / Lille match," confirmed the Gones.
The club has not yet communicated the exact length of Nuamah's unavailability, but an ACL tear typically requires several months of rehabilitation. OL's medical staff assures that they will take all necessary measures to ensure optimal recovery for their player. It is possible that the Ghanaian won't return to the field before the end of this season.
