OL: Moussa Niakhaté issues apology after his penalty miss in Coupe de France

OL was knocked out last night in the Coupe de France. After missing his penalty, Moussa Niakhaté has just issued an apology on his social media.

Yesterday, OL showed real character to claw back from a two-goal deficit and force RC Lens into a penalty shootout in the Coupe de France quarterfinals (2-2, 4-5). While he delivered an overall solid performance, Moussa Niakhaté was the only OL player to miss his attempt, sealing his team's elimination. This Friday, the Senegalese defender addressed the situation on his social networks.

"Life is a never-ending cycle... Fighting back to reach the penalty shootout at the very last second after being 2-0 down at halftime shows the determination and heart we put into this match. But I'm obviously disappointed with the outcome after my missed penalty. Thank you for your chants and your messages! I’ve been determined since my very first day here—imagine how much more today…" he wrote.
