Olivier Giroud: a difficult adaptation in MLS?
Olivier Giroud: a difficult adaptation in MLS?

France's all-time top scorer, Olivier Giroud is experiencing a rough patch in the MLS with Los Angeles FC. Since his last goal on September 26 in the US Open Cup, the former Arsenal, Chelsea, and AC Milan striker hasn't found the back of the net, a worrying drought for a player of his caliber.

Yet, Giroud has always silenced his critics with his efficiency. From Montpellier to Milan, through the Premier League, he has built his legend with decisive goals and an impressive track record. But at 38, his adventure in the United States currently seems to be failing. In 17 matches with LAFC, including 12 as a starter, he has scored only twice, and not at all in MLS.

Far from being a "retirement home" for European stars, Major League Soccer sometimes presents unexpected challenges. And today, Olivier Giroud is experiencing them firsthand.
