According to information from L’Equipe, OM are already working behind the scenes to prepare for life after Mehdi Benatia. His exit is expected at the end of the season. The French outlet reports that the search for a new sporting director began early and is now a top priority for new president Stéphane Richard.

OM has since brought in a specialist firm to identify potential candidates, with several names already being considered both in France and abroad. In a tricky financial climate and with OM still fighting for a place in Europe, the new sporting director will have to adapt to a limited margin for maneuver.
