Ousmane Sow is set for a return to the Polish league. The 26-year-old forward has been officially loaned out by Brøndby IF to Jagiellonia Białystok for the 2026-2027 season.

The deal includes a purchase option and will see the Senegalese attacker wear the number 30 shirt for his new club. After just a few months in Denmark, Sow is once again on the move, looking for more game time and a fresh boost in his career trajectory.

A new start after a brief spell in Denmark

Having arrived at Brøndby in winter 2026, Ousmane Sow struggled to secure a regular spot in Thomas Nørgaard’s squad. Despite making 14 appearances for the Danish club in the spring, fierce competition—especially in the attacking line—limited his minutes on the pitch. Brøndby’s sporting director, Julius Ohnesorge, believes this loan is the right move for all parties involved.

"Our squad is highly competitive, particularly up front. That competition hasn’t worked in Ousmane’s favor, so we actively sought to facilitate his transfer," explained the director, who sees Sow’s arrival at Jagiellonia as a great opportunity, especially with the Polish club set to feature in European competition this season.

For Sow, this move is primarily about reclaiming a key role on the field. The Senegalese forward is already familiar with Polish football and has fond memories of his previous stint in the country.

"As a player, you always want to spend as much time on the pitch as possible. That’s why I think this is an excellent opportunity," he said after his arrival.

Sow returns to a league he knows well

This new chapter takes Ousmane Sow back to Poland, where he previously played for Górnik Zabrze. He spent a year there after arriving in the country during the winter of 2025. His experience should allow him to quickly adapt to a league whose demands he knows—and where he’s already faced Jagiellonia twice.

Born in Dakar, Sow began his career in France before continuing his journey in Belgium. His time at Górnik Zabrze then opened the door to Brøndby, which he now leaves after a short spell to return to Poland. At Jagiellonia, he’s hoping to take the next step and establish himself in an ambitious project.

The main objective is crystal clear: play more, score goals, deliver assists, and help Jagiellonia achieve its ambitions.

"I want to help the team. I want to score goals, provide assists, and give everything for the club," Sow declared.

The Senegalese striker now has another chance to reignite his career in a league he already knows well.
