Patrick Assoumou Eyi banned for life by FIFA! (Official)

FIFA issued an exemplary sanction on Tuesday, March 4 against Gabonese coach Patrick Assoumou Eyi, known as "Capello," banning him for life from all football-related activities. This decision follows a thorough investigation revealing sexual abuse of minors committed by the coach over a period of more than fifteen years.

The case broke following revelations by investigative journalist Romain Molina, who gathered numerous damning testimonies from young victims.

In light of these findings, FIFA conducted its own investigations, confirming the severity of the charges against the former youth team coach of Gabon.

FIFA sends a strong message

With this definitive exclusion, FIFA sends a strong message against sexual violence in sports. The world football governing body thus reaffirms its determination to combat all forms of abuse and protect young players.

Now prohibited from holding any football-related position, Patrick Assoumou Eyi will no longer be able to work as a coach or in any other capacity within the sports industry.
